Built a Split/Reamp/Buffer/Phase + Ground lift pedal so that I can play stereo on the two amps (144th pedal built)
Features both a lofi Xicon TM018-R xformer and also a more quality original Lehle LTHZ xformer, I can choose between them.
Absolutely clear sound, with apparently no loss, because the selectable Klon style buffer works amazingly in getting back any tone that was affected from the split of the guitar signal towards the amps.
Thank you bancika for this!(link to the owner of the original project): https://diy-fever.com/effects/lehle-splitter-re-amp/

Hi, congratulations for the project! I have a question.
ReplyDeleteDo you think that is a good option make the buffered split box only with the xicon pc10k-10k transformer because of the lower cost option? The lehle and jensen are too expensive, and I cam get the edcor for very little cost.
Thanks!
Hello, the answer is yes but ONLY with an added buffer. I can tell you that in the buffer off mode, the difference between the Lehle specific transformer and the other Xicon is staggering unfortunately. With the buffer ON the difference is a bit more girth and vague more "vintage"/less hifi polished of a sound between the two xformers. With the buffer OFF, it's like a blanket over the speaker, weak and anemic attack, very long cable capacitance feel, vs ON between them.
DeleteMany thanks for the repply and very quickly!!
