An amazing transparent overdrive design on some settings, the hype for this is justified IMO.

The parts used are of good quality:
- Kester EU eutectic 63/37 solder
- Teflon coated silver plated copper wiring
- 1% tolerance metal film resistors (Vishay/SR Passives)
- Gorva Mechano 3PDT softer touch true bypass switch
- Nichicon lytic caps, Evox Rifa & MKT caps
- NOS variant of 1N4148 diodes
- BB2134 IC
- Lumberg input jacks and DC in

Hey there! Where do you source your wiring? It looks very easy to use. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHey. In this particular pedal I actually used a bit different wires than I normally use. It all depends on how crowded a pedal is or simply what I feel like using.
DeleteOn the contrary, it is NOT easy to use such cables. Maybe it looks like that because I built a lot of pedals and have decent cable management skills learned and know how to properly cut and size the length (I'm a bit OCD-ish haha), but for others it could be harder actually and break since I normally use thin (24awg) single core silver plated copper wires with very thin teflon coating. These can easily break if you don't know what you are doing or mishandle them a lot.
To me single core cables in pedals are not for everyone, and most people do not use such cables, but this is what I like.
So, in this particular pedal I used stranded(not single core), and a bit thicker than 24awg wires, also teflon coated and plated, but this type of wire takes a lot of insistent bending to get to a certain shape and "stay put". This is it, in 20AWG IIRC:

But normally, I use this thinner 24awg single core:

You can see this on a multitude of my pedal clones actually: Nobels ODR-1, Xotic AC Booster, Vemuram TSV808 etc.
Thanks for your reply! I didn’t see it until now.
ReplyDeleteYour pedals are a work of art and your work is impeccable. I’ve been building pedals for a few years and strive daily to get better and cleaner.
How did you learn your technique(s)?
I’m very impressed with your work…everything from soldering to cable management.
Thanks again.
Nick
Hey! Thank you so much for the appreciation. To be honest I don't lnow where I got this, I am a bit of a perfectionist and I just tried various methods and these ones looked the most aesthetically pleasing.
DeleteBtw I use eutectic 63/37 type solder, it solidifies almost instantly:

Best of luck and to many more builds to come for you also!
