Schecter Omen Extreme 6 overhaul

* A Schecter Omen Extreme 6 came in for a lot of general work:

- cleaned the nut slot in shape and added a Graphtech Tusq XL nut, shaped it also and adjusted the slots;
(the previous nut was a strange artsy like thing made by a ''luthier'' here, but I don't recommend sandwiching bone + wood LOL, and having no regard for correct string slippage at the nut... the previous quality nut was taken out without the owner's request);
- polished the fretwire and the frets;
- neither the previous ''tech'' nor the warranty, fixed the broken unsoldered wire in one of the coils, so I fixed that as well (the whole pickup was dead);
- redid the whole wiring and cleaned the old parts (again, the previous ''luthier'' did some weird caps for filtering, when the pickups were split to ground);
- polished the tuneomatic bridge
- repainted a lot of screws
- did the general setup after everything, and the guitar plays great now(previous setup was a mess and it choked on the first frets)

    1. Hello, use the below, but swap the colors (as you can see the schematic has duncan designed pickups, and the original Schecter here doesn't, so if you have the stock pickups just like in this post of mine, you need to swap colors)

      You just need to swap Red with Green , that's it. So Green + White together for the split switch, and now Red goes to the pot lug.
      The rest are the same (black and bare to ground).

  2. Hi, I am also looking for a GraphTech TUSQ XL nut for my Omen 6 Extreme. What is the correct size or model to buy?

  3. Hi, which GraphTech TUSQ XL model did you buy? What are the correct measurements?

    1. Hello, there is a pic in which if you look closely, it kind of says BTXL 6000. Judging by the initial shape, I think that is correct (can't really tell from the picture if it says 6000 or 6060, but 6060 looks different). Btw this nut was SHAPED a little. You will never find an exact fit, so be aware of this....you will have to take a bit from the sides, from the height a bit under it, and obviously from the slots to perfectly match the radius of the frets.
      I couldn't possibly remember out of my head what measurements I made to come up with that exact nut from GraphTech, almost 2 years ago haha.
      Good luck
