* AKG K500 came in with a strange sounding right driver
After a lot of tinkering I decided with the owner to at least open the driver carefully, and unfortunately, the internal magnet fragmented heavily and its coating was also sprinkled inside, and no matter how much I would of cleaned I couldn't guarantee it will sound the same and the magnet will not fragment more and dislodge additional pieces.
It was a lost cause anyway but we wanted to see what the issue was. Sadly the driver is a very specific one and I can't imagine ever finding one (this is a 1991-1992 headset), unless someone else had the same issue and sells the good one for parts.
