I drenched the stereo volume pot with cleaner, and also the eq/balance pots and everything to get out dust and grime as much as possible where it counts.
I recommended to the owner to use a slightly better shielded signal cable (like mine below), as he mentioned that even at a very low volume one of the channels can still be faintly heard, like a strange bleedthrough (I did not have this issue with my cables after cleaning, at all).
It still sounds great after all this time, but as always with 40+ year old gear, some of the caps are probably not within spec (an electrolytic capacitor has an approx lifetime of about 25 years ideally, depending on the operating conditions).
