Features a solid state preamp and a full tube power amp. This amp variant was used by the likes of Mark Knopfler and others.
Didn't work anymore and had some fried parts on the transistorized bias board. Will also swap the big filter caps when the new ones arrive, the old ones measure at the limit of tolerance and they physically look bad (as seen in the photos). Also checked other caps as well and they seem to have good ESR and are within decent limits.
Also someone used two 6P3C/6L6 tubes with two 6CA7/EL34, which can cause quite a bit of unbalance and stress(this is a 4 x 6CA7/EL34 amp). Without going into details, it's ok to swap from a EL34 designed amp to a 6L6, if you rebias, but all have to be the same type of tube (not the same for a 6L6 designed amp to EL34s).
Sounds good! Has the cool doubling tremolo that these amps had.
